Retro-gaming is all about playing and collecting older consoles and arcade video games. In my case it sounded really cool but I realized that it meant a lot of switching from consoles and games that also need some storage place.

Somehow I find this use cases too complicated and I wanted an all-in-one experience with the combination of radical aesthetics and refined materials. This was the first model.

You can plug this right into your TV or projector via HDMI and start playing all of your favorite videogames from your childhood. I'm talking Mario Kart, Golden eye, Crash Bandicoot and so much more.

Still, I wanted to go further with this project by adding a security camera module, but I also wanted to implement a old technology spirit into it : the Stirling engine.

The Stirling engine named after Robert Stirling (1790–1878) and his brother James is was invented and patented in 1816. It's a mechanical device which operates on a closed regenerative thermodynamic cycle. In other way if you put it on a cup of coffee, the heat coming out from it will make the engine run. How simple and cool is that?

For the camera surveillance part, I used an open source software that abled me to detect movements in front of the camera. I programmed it so it will take a picture and a video everytime the camera is triggered by a motion and send it to me in a mail.

I must admit that at the beginning I never thought this project would look like this. It is through random inspirations and multiple iterations that I came up with this design. I hope you enjoy it.
